Red face Introducing Apollo - Albino Chacoan Horned frog?

Hi guys

This is my lovely new pal Apollo. My partner purchased her for me.
He said she was labeled as an ornate horned frog (cranwell sp. i think)
However i think from the research i have done that she is a chacoan horned frog? am i right?
I am calling her a her but i don't have a clue what sex she is, she isnt very dark under the throat though.

anyway here are some pics - i named her Apollo after the sun god (if u wondered)
When i first got her i thought she was a little underweight but not sure now. The place that has her had never given her vitamin powder on her food, didn't know how old she was etc etc

what you think? does she look healthy?
i adore her

she's lovely! not sure of the exact species though, not too hot on them. she's only young judging by the size of her, i'd say no more than 4 or 5 mths, my guy is over double her size!! and he's a yr old. they grow very fast. she also to me doesn't look underweight, but it's hard to tell by photo's alone. just make sure you dust her food often at her age,e but sounds like you know what you are doing anyway, good luck with her!! xx

ummmm an ornate is a C, ornata. just looks like a ceratophrys cranwelli, which are called cranwells horned frog or sometimes refferred to as chacoan horned frog.

thanks for explaining that one i was getting all confused!

im getting some vitamin powder on friday as i ran out two days ago. she wont take pinkies from tweezers and is only interested in locusts rather than crickets - so i guess locusts it is for now.
I cant wait to see her grow - she is in a divided tank at the mo, on the other side im planning on putting a painted bullfrog, but when they start to grow i have 2ft tanks for each of them.

Default Albino horned frog

I thought the only albino horned frog that can be bread in captivity is the C. cranwelli so looks like you got a nice young one of them.
LOOKS GREAT

i offered her a pinky the day i got her but i dont think she has ever been fed these before and she wasnt interested, so i decided to wait till the next day to make sure she was hungry and offered her locusts. the toad may not eat becuase it has already been fed by the place you got it.
you can try putting a cricket or locust in and see what happens; wont hurt for one to be in there for the night. best to leave it to it other than that so it rests and de-stresses.

get some pics up of your new baby!
