Default Help me decide!!!

Hi peeps

I'm bascally looking to but a pair of treefrogs, but i really can't decide what frogs to get.

I have a 24x18x24 inch exo terra which i brought because i was gonna get a pair of WTF then i saw the milk frogs, then clown frogs and it goes on.

Now im totally confused at which frog to get and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions and information ect, also if any one knows of a reliable breeder cos the petshop near me is rubbbish!

Below is what the tank looks like now but i plan to make a sort of shelf thing and silicon it to one side for a higher level, and also add some branches and probably some vines.

Thanks for any info

looks lovely, but to be honest tree frogs like much more cover than this, get some vines and twist them round and some tall foliage plants if you want real plants. also some creeping plants would look lovely some pothos or creeping fig you can ignore me if you like lol, I do love the root thing you have in the middle though!
and as for frogs get some whites, they are very funny! I was in stiches watching mine last night, my female was trying desperately to get back on the vine but kept sliping, it was hilarious to watch (bit mean of me though hahaha) she did it in the end though and had a very proud grin on her face.

as a starter frog i'd suggest usa green tree frogs,

and if you're going to keep tree frogs i'd also suggest covering the 2 sides of the viv as well, cheapest way is to sellotape news paper to the out sides,
this is because they can be a little dippy when it comes to noticing glass and may jump straight into it half brining them selves, once they are used to the sides being there you can remove it.
i'd also agree with peoples comments about putting more stuff up in the air for them to sit on.
what you've done does look a good start though.

yeh, lol, this is very true, they do tend to try and jump 'out' of the tank at first, and can't understand why they can't!
I had usa's as my first frog years and years ago, they were great

Yeah its totally not finsihed, like i said i'm gonna silicone a shelf thing in or 2 and add branches and vines.

I'm not too keen on the American Green Tree frogs, a friend has them and i think they are a bit boring to look at in comparrison to others (no offence to any one who has them) i like the idea of WTF's but prefer the way Amazon Milk frogs look. I read some information that Milk frogs needed almost the same conditions as WTF but higher huymidity, is that true?

I have been looking into this for a while now i don't take the responsiblity of a new pet lightly, I just can't decide. Plus it makes it harder that a lot of the things i read or are told contradict each other.

I didn't plan on covering the 2 other sides of the tank but i will if it helps the frogs settle in.

I got the root from a website for tropical fish accessories (can't for the life of me remember which one), i was planning on getting white's and wanted something sturdy. It will look better with some vines wrapped around it, and will also act as a good anchor for them.

I really want a pothos plant but i just can't get hold of one where i am in Hastings, the only one i saw was about 2 inchs tall and had like 4 leaves lol.

I'm a bit wary of getting one online i like to be able to see what im buying, especially when it comes to thing that are alive. But if anyone knows of a good website for plants lemmie know!

Thanks!!

I think whites are the best beginners, but would need more cover and higher plants. Looks nice though!

Hmmm.. I ordered from there before and paid extra for next day delivery, Then the next day it didn't arrive so I called the guy and he was like "its only next day when you order before 9am." So i was a little miffed about that cos I spent an extra tenner or whatever for a service i didn't recieve. And no where on that website could i find anything about ordering before 9am. Proper vexed! O and he was uber rude, like i was wasting his time.
Then when my order finally turned up I got the little plant i wanted but it looked a bit sad, i thought "o well nothing a bit of TLC won't cure".
Had if for like 3 days and the outer leaves looked like they were rotting, so i removed them and the whole thing fell apart on me. My friend who owns a florist was like "erm.. that was practcally dead when you got it".. i was like.. "oh."
So all in all not a great experience. I didn't bother to do anything about it cos the plant was only like £3.99 but still.

O and can i ask a really dumb question... okay thanks...
What does all the Whites tree frog 1.1.0 ect. mean?
I understand its the pets you own but surly that should be one number like WTF 1, GTF 2 ect?
Maybe i'm just dumb and missing something.

oh, that's terrible to hear, I had a really good experience with them I ordered my items on the thursday and it all arrived on the friday, in excellent condition.

the numbers thing means, how many you have of each sex, the first number being male, the second female and the 3rd number is about juveniles or unable to sex specimens.
