you can for maintenance etc but i wouldnt handle them like you do a snake/lizard-for pleasure. they have very delicate skin and are sensitive to the oils etc in our skin. if you do have to pick up an amphib for any reason, ensure your hands are clean and are damp with dechlorinated water

Wouldn't having wet hands simply make it easier for the oils to be absorbed into their skin?
I wear gloves when I handle phibs, I know it sounds like molly-coddling, but I'd rather not risk them getting sores or anything..it's not like disposable gloves are expensive..

just googled handling frogs, some say use gloves as you do,others say to wash your hands in water only then leave them wet and thats ok too. guess both ways are fine

I always use the wet hands method but I only handle them when Im cleaning otut the vivs. Even then its only for a couple of seconds to lift them into another container.

I suppose very rarely you can but aphibians are usually ment for watching and not handling like a hamster or something.

Just feel I should clarify, since I didn;t say so in my first post...I echo these guy's statements...I only handle phibs when I need to, they aren't for playing with..
