hi Reuben, it's very difficult to tell the sex of a whites tree frog until they reach adulthood, and the only real way you can then tell is if it calls or not (in the case of a female) although I have heard my female do a return call once! so this isn't always the 'best' way to tell, the other reliable way to tell is, females grow bigger than males. but this is only helpful if you keep a group of them. most pet shops only sell juvies, so this won't help i'm afraid.
as for feeding them, this would depend on the age of the frog. my adult I feed about 6-8 4th instar crickets every other day. sometimes more, sometimes less, depends on if she wants them or not.
are you wanting the female for the fact they don't call? or to breed?
I am afraid you might be in for a long wait to find any for sale that are accurately sexed though.
