Hi there. The humidity in my whites tank is at aboput 70%. I know this is ok but it only goes down a very little in the day to 65 ish then up a tad at night. This is without me misting the tank? :S
Strange. Ive read everywhere about people having too mist there tanks how come i am not having too. Dont get me wrong im not complaining just interested. Thanks Also i have a digital thermometer here where should i put the probe. If it makes any difference too either question temperature reads 28 in the day and heat mat is on one of the sides. Thanks Chris |

my old white's tank was like that
it is probably because the sub is very damp. how is the ventilation?? sometimes the ventilation may not be drying it enough

Humidity in your house may be fluctuating and thus affecting your tank. My old house was really humid, I had a glass tank which would reach 70 in the morning and dry out to 45 by mid afternoon, it was near the windowsill. Where is your tank positioned?

I have to mist my tank alot, about twice a day. If i don't it drops to about 43%. If i forget to mist it before I go to work it'll be that when I get home.
When I do mist it though the reading goes up in the 90s and then slowly settles in the mid to low 60s after a while, is this ok or should I only mist it enough for the reading to go up to 60-70? At night when everythings off it goes to mid 80s. Most of the time in room im looking over checking those numbers ![]()

I keep my whites on 2-3 inches of damp humus with orchid bark on top.
The humus keeps the viv nice and humid with a well ventilated lid on an exo terra faunarium. I have two in there but can neve get there quick enough to see them croaking..lol. They are sub adults about 3".

Hi. The ventilation is the same as on all exo terra's with the wire mesh top.
I realised today that my substrate is drying out on top....(its a lighter colour) however the humidity still remains at 70 :S The hygrometer is at the top of the tank on the side. Does it need moving?? Im worried its reading wrong and may be getting too dry. I havent't misted in about a week. Chris |

are you using he dial hygrometer?? if so they aren't accurate. I have one in my kitchen draw that reads 90% all the time LOL and it's no way that humid in a dry draw!
