you could try some blood worm if it is still in the water. otherwise yep pinheads, and make sure you dust!

not sure on other frogs but i do know that for Poison Dart Frogs, once the front and back legs protude, you stop feeding them, this is because they absorb their tails and live off that. you only start feeding them again when it's all gone.
also, i'd recomend putting a bit of land he/she can climb onto to prevent the risk of drowning. again, i don't know if this applies to your common toad, but i thought it might help ![]()
