This website is great. They have care sheets for each species aswell as difficulty ratings. There's also a great section on the forum with members vivs, check them out some of them are stunning. |

thanks guys
. Before I spend hours looking, do most darts have similar requirements...so could I set up a generic dart viv and tweak it for specific needs nearer to choosing my species? They seem to mostly need temps in the low to mid 70s and humidity of at least 80% |

I used to keep various dart frogs and really went to town on waterfalls and misting systems, made my own fruit fly cultures etc, and it was so much hastle, that keeping the frogs was such a pain that i packed it in.
I went back to them late last year, with one big difference, i kept the set up far more simple. Its more enjoyable, the frogs are great, kokoe poison frogs, kept at 23c 85% humidity, sprayed with rainwater twice a day, and not a fruit fly in sight. Tank is a exo terra 18 by 24, with the twin compact hood, i have 2 terra fans that come on for 15 mins an hour, one fan blows in cold air and the other blows in air from under the light hood, so there is air circulation within the tank, which i feel is important. Hope all this makes sense, as long as the envoironment fits the species you fancy, then keep it simple, much less to go wrong. Ben

. I don't really bother culturing my own food, it's way too much hassle (couldn't even be bothered with those whiteworms!) so I tend to bulk buy live food from a company I've been using for about a year now |
