It'll be fine for misting...phibs don't need to live in it (apart from newts and axolotls obv) it's just for keeping the humidity up..

I use RO water for misting, have been for almost 2 years now. Also use it for bathing water, its not that pure once open to the air and dirt falling in from the viv.

RO is ok for misting and using RO to mist will help prevent salt deposits on the glass and limescale in your nozzles, however RO should never be used for bathing water.
RO water is a Hypotonic solution - it contains next to no minerals. When you place a frog into water that has a lower mineral content than the frogs cells the water will be drawn into the frogs cells by Osmosis. The frogs may appear ok but you don't know what damage is being done.

why would the frogs cells take on water through osmosis???

coz osmosis is the movement of water from an area of low concentration to an area oh high concentration
therefore minerals in the frog draw water into it

osmosis is the movements through a partialy pemiable membrane over a concentration gradient of water e.g a potato is placed into water. the water concentration is higher outside so it will draw into the potato to balence the concentration. with reverse osmosis it is the opposite so the frogs water will be drawn out of it there for it will be bad for it

True but osmosis is living animal cells is usually an active process and the cell has the ability to regulate the amount of water it holds. This is just a laymans scare theory, I actually asked my metabolics lecturer while I was doing my biological sciences degree and it doesnt really happen.
