Default Repti glo 2.0 13w or 26w for compact hood

Im looking too get a UV bulb for my whites. Specifically a repti glo bulb 2.0.
It needs to fit in my small exo terra at the moment for my Young frog but also needs too fit in the larger one when i get it. Does anyone know if the bulb size changes (ie small exo uses 13w or larger uses 26w or both use same)
Reason i ask is i dont really want to buy 2 whole sets of equipment so im hoping one fits both.
Its for the compact hood thing
Thanks
Chris

I had the same dilemma when I first got my white's. You need to get 1 of the 26w 2.0 and 1 of the 26w 5.0 bulbs for a larger tank (45x45x60cm) (5.0 UV is proven to be good for their health)

For the small one at the moment just put the 2.0 one in the hood and leave the other socket empty otherwise it'll be too bright for a small tank and the UV may be too strong.
Hope this helps!

if it helps. both of them fit in both tanks. one is just bigger than the other and also provides a stronger light. not necessarily brighter, but it is stronger. so I would recommend the 13w for the smaller tank and the 26w for the bigger tank. but either will do. I use 13w ones in my bigger one with no problems.

Don't the instructions with the exo-terra hoods state that you should use 13W bulbs? Or am I remembering wrong?

A sticker inside the hood itself states that you should not use any higher than 26W in each bulb socket.

I guess they make the 13 W for the 30x30x30cm tank as that would be enough light for that size.

I've been using 2x26w bulbs in mine for just over 2 months now without any problems. The only problem I have with my hood is that the on and off switch broke so you cant turn it off without unplugging it, i cant seem to fix it either and don't now why it started doing it!

Funny enough that happened to me! i flick the switch down but it just flicks the back again, must be a manufacture error.

Anyways i use a 26W 2.0 (which is a must for live plants) and a 5.0 in my 45x45x60, in my dart tank (30x30x45) which I'm constructing will have a single 2.0 probs 13W as I'm using all live plants. But yes you can use 26w ones in the small vivs but might be alittle strong thou
