I have been meaning to get a few for more for my two guys (crumpet and jam). My local reps store has just got some yellow bellies but i just wanted to make sure that i can keep them together before finding them a friend.

I take it we're talking orientalis and variegata, and not bombina and variegata?.

Not advisable mate, 2 good reasons being transmission of alien pathogens and other nasties between the 2 species, and the other main reason is that they WILL interbreed too.

Doesn't mean you can't get any variegata though, you just need a seperate enclosure

I have a huge colony of variegata, have nearly kept this species continuously since childhood, highly recommended. As a side note, i wonder if Andrew Tilson-Willis still has his pictures of the orientalis x variegata hybrids?... i remember seeing some on his old site some years ago. He may post them if we ask nicely ; )
