i had to put them in there while i was setting up a new tank for them. they were only in there for a few hours... the green one was fine, nothing wrong with him but the white one was traumatised and tortured!! the gills are little stumps and hes hurt his leg :'( i thought they would be ok for a little while as they were together from the very begining when i first got them.
they were seperated when i got a new fish and a new axolotl. i have two tanks. one for fish and one for axolotls. i bought a new tank for the axolotls because the old one was too small and put them together while i was setting it up. i was devistated and immediatly put them in their new tank. the green one is eating fine but the white one refuses everything i give her. she swims up for air and floats around the tank a bit but shes so skinny. im really really worried she wont pull through

You have a green axolotl?

I swear thats not even a type.

If you have tried salt baths etc and she's still not eating it's probably best to take her to the vets but i'm not too sure how much a vet would know about axolotls but hey, just my two cents.

yeah shes green... i think they are called wild type.

i dont know what the vet can do! shes too small to do anything to. she refuses to eat and i cant force feed her. ive done everything it says online. salt baths, cold temps, seperating her. i dont know what else to do. i think shes given up living :'(

Here is my two cense...if you try too many things at one time the chance of stress is huge and therefor the poor thing wont eat...and to be honest, if you have given up on a vet before even trying, well

What the hell do you want anyone on here to say/do???

There have been suggestions, if they are not working the obvious thing to do is take it to the vet...why you seem to have avoided this for so long I will never know.

Most people on here would have separated him first, tried salt baths almost immediatly, and if there was no improvement after a day or two they would take there beloved pet to the vet...in hope that there may be something that they could do. - even if it costs loads

The right medicines can actually do the trick, there have been frogs on here with horrific parasite injuries that have healed when they looked like goners, and I mean, half the skin gone.,..so why you think you know best in this case just annoyed me a bit.

Maybe there will be someone on here to disagree?
