Default Any communal arboreal frogs?

SCRAP MY ESSAY OF A POST!

I think I've settled on getting some white's tree frogs, I think getting tiny 2-3cm frogs is a bit impractical for my first ampphibians,

So are white's communal? I often see pairs for sale so I assume so.

I have a 45x45x60 exo, Is that enough room for a pair?

I'll go do some reading on them now.

Ok do they need UV? A few of the care sheets don't mention it at all, and others focus more on using a small basking ,light to raise the temps.

My room is the warmest in the house, above 25c without central heating on. Generally doesn't drop below 20c at night.

Do I need a lower wattage(say 40) bulb to raise a certain point in the viv to 30-32c AND a UV tube. Or just have a UV tube to provide overhead light and UV, or neither.

I know their generally nocturnal but it sounds as if they sleep in the open in the day, so would probably get exposed to UV.

i would always recomend a uv of 2% especially with juvenile frogs. stay away from heat bubls as they will rapidly reduce humidity and cause big problems if a frog falls asleep under it.

ok so only UV, I'll probably either buy an exo terrxa canopy or cheap out and just get a glomat light controller(exo terra brand I think) and just rest the UV tube on top of the wire mesh.

Do you recommend a heatmat on the side of the tank though? I know they don't raise air temp all that much but a few degrees always helps and infra red warms them internally or what ever.

Then finally if you keep them yourself, can you tell me how wide they are? I'm looking for branches wide enough for them to perch on without falling off because their too big.

I mean those large exo terra jungle vines are only 1/5cm in diameter, it sounds too small. I think I'll just to to wilkos and buy a few packs of 12 bamboo canes, I just won't take off the ties and use them.

i dont keep whites any more but you need branches around 1-1.5 inches thick.

A heat mat on the side is the best way, i heat all my vivs by mats. a uv tube on top will be fine, just buy a reflector to sit over it

Do reflectors sit over it or actually attach to the tube? Surely if they sit over it it would be cheaper just to put tin foil over it.

I think my decor budget is going to be bigger then the budget for two adult white's.

Tin foil creates hot spots and reflects the light all over the place.

Reflectors attach to the tube via two metal brackets and rests just above it.

ah right, do you buy reflector for different length tubes? to make it fit on top I'm going to go with a 15" long tube..so I need a 15" reflector I guess...

Now to hunt for 1.5" or so thick branches and vines.

Hmm right, so does this shopping list look ok?

Exo terra 45x45x60(already got)

Glomat 20w single control unit( 1"diam for 15-24" tubes)

Exo terra/ zoo med 15" 2.0 UV tube (not sure which brand is better, if there are any differences)

Arcadia 18" reflector(one assumes it fits a 15 tube, it seems to have one attachment and both tubes are 1" diameter)

Heatmat

Tons of decor(including substrate, water bowl, climbing and perches)
