Exclamation Confess! Who here handles their frogs?

Fess up! Who here get's their frog friends out to play?

I'll admit I handle my White's all the time (with gloves on) but once they get restless and jumpy I put them back. I usually only handle fish anyway as she is alot calmer and will sit still for longer she is definitely used to being held.

My red eyes I didn't touch until today when I wanted to take them out and photograph them. I wanted a group shot but they ended up hopping all over my bed so I quickly put them back.

If you do handle them, how often and does it have any effect on them?

I know alot of people frown upon handling frogs and say that it's such a big no no but sometimes I can't resist

*puts hand up*

I handle Oscar all the time.
When I first got him I vowed not to, but he'd been used to being held at his previous home (he was 3yo when I got him) so when ever my hand went in the tank for his water bowl or whatever he'd hop on to me before I could stop him.
It used to worry me, but now I just let him get on with it. It's quite common for me to go & change his water in the bathroom with him sat quite happily on my shoulder.

*please don't shoot me*

Always make sure I've washed my hands before handling.
It's hard to resist. Especially if you want to see if they're okay.

No.

If I get White's I may consider (with gloves) letting them climb onto my hand of their own accord when I'm tinkering about in the viv but only if they are comfortable with it.

Smaller species definitley not.
