Question new to frogs..... horned frog help

hi all i got my first frog today, just checking everythings ok with my set up

he/she is about the same size as a 2pound coin, i have it housed in i tub around 7*7 inch, with a good size shallow bowl and moss substrate.

there is a heat source under the tub, and my room has a good ambient from my other vivs.

i am going to upgrade her tub soon, and add plant hides.

the water is treated with reptisafe and i will be feeding it 5 crickets per day.

is there anything drastically wrong with my set up?? or is it ok??

cheer

i wouldnt use moss as can cause impactions-use wet paper towel or eco earth instead. also the heat source shouldnt be underneath as they burrow to escape heat, put it on the side.also is the heat source controlled by a stat?if not,it should be. food wise, gut loaded crickets/hoppers/cockroaches and earthworms that are also calcium dusted every other feed and nutrobol dusted once a week will be fine.can give a mouse of appropriate size once a month too.

We had ours in a tub when we first got it and we were strongly advised to get it into a terranium asap. You need something like a 18"x18" Glass terranium doesnt need to be tall as they dont climb. We use eco earth and we did use moss until we were told the compaction problems. We have a UVB5 compact spot (This is debated if you need it or not) And a heatmat controlled by a thermostat. We mist it alot and keep the substrate damp (Not Soaking) We have a hide in there and use a Humididty sensor in to keep an eye on it. We also have a shallow exo terra water dish with gravel in it and water. We only use water at 7.4 PH. We feed every other day a mixture of crickets, small locusts, Butterworm, Waxworms and ive set up a worm farm to get some freebies

sounds as though youve got it spot on although i would be cautious with the compact uv as have heard reports of them causing eye damage-also do not use uv with the albino horned frog as it will cause eye problems with that due to it being albino

oh no! Didn't realise about the eye thing! Ours is Ornate and he has a hide to get away from the light in, want to use live plants in it but we are currently in the middle of 'flushing them out' so to speak with bottled water as the girlfriend was concerned about pesticides and fertilisers that may have been used in the shop on them. We also feed it every other day, when it gets bigger we have been told one big feed a week will suffice, is this correct?
