Can you get leeches as pets at all?

Leaches are not amphibians. I know they are avaliable to the medical trade but dont think any "shops" stock them. have you not tried just going down a local river or stream? The one at the back of my works is teaming with them.

I bought some to treat my dogs ear.Not my idea of a pet but they have been a huge success and I still have them. Heres the topic including where I got them from:

To be honest I dont know much about them at all but was just curious!! What catagory would they belong uder aswell? I heard they had a positive affect on the human body coz thye released a helpful enzyme or bacteria into our blood?!?!
