Default Those-little-worm-things-you-find-in-tubs-of-crickets.

What actually ARE they?
I usually get rid of them. Should I be? Or are they helping?
Also, would my frogs like them?
haha

shops put them in the boxs as they eat the dead crickets
and i dont see why you shouldnt be allowed to feed them to your frogs

Hmm... I just don't know if I trust them...
If they eat the dead ones, what's to stop them eating the alive ones!?

do you mean the small caterpillar-like things? i asked about them a while ago. i believe they are larvae of beetles in the Dermestidae family, but can't tell you which species. a few people on my posting said they feed them to their amphibs and reps, so i don't think they are harmful - though don't use them as food myself! as far as i can tell they only eat dead animals, so no need to worry about them eating your live ones!

I use them as food for my toads, and find that if any get to the beetle stage, my Bufo debilis love them.

They're dermestid beetle larvae, shops don't "put them in to clean up" as most people think, they are infact a pestin commercial breeding setups. They will eat smaller live crickets.

They are also a great food for your frogs as being so fuzzy they can hold loads of multivitamin powder
