Default transporting RETF's? HELP!

Hi, picking up retf's tomorrow and im rather worried about the temperature changhes as its a two hour drive. Any ideas if they can cope for this amount of time? I was planning on keeping them in a viv on the passegers floor where it will be safer and more heated. I know breeders transport them in containers but unsure how they keep a steady temperature. If anyone has experience or knowledge for me it would be much appreciated.

Dom

what sort of size are they? really if they are VERY small they shouldn't be moved to much. they are a very shy species. just be very careful with them and ensure you have the correct temp in your car. keep them moist and enusre they are well fed and ready to go before you travel.

Avoid putting any food in the transport tubs, this will only make a stressful time worse. Just keep them warm, and dont let them dry out. How far do you have to travel? if they are sprayed before leaving and have a damp paper towel in the bottom of the container i doubt they will need extra misting.

When you get them home, open the container and place it inside the viv, let them come out by them selfs and avoid photographing and leering into the viv for at least 24 hours.

A.Callidryas are very delicate and will need time to settle.

Are these your first frogs?

With the weather the way is is, I'd be inclined to put their containers in a cool box (but without the ice packs, lol) or a polystyrene container- failing that, a cardboard box with shredded paper. That way, they shouldn't get chilled.

I would use the polly box over the cool box, as cool boxes by design stay cold. Use a polly box and blast it with a hair dryer first, the pollyprop will absorb the heat and keep warm. Failing that a cardboard box with shredded paper and a heat pack. The frog still needs to be in its plastic, ventilated, damp container though.
