I had to take my FBT's to the vet!
I was putting fruit flies in this morning and found my female under a dish that has plants in. She barely moved when I put my hands near her, and so have been keeping an eye on her all day.
After dinner I went up to check on her, and couldn't find her! I checked all her favourite places, and nope, no toad. After worrying my brains out thinking a) she had escaped or b) the male had eaten her, I eventually saw her nose in a very obscure hiding place. I moved what she was hiding under to get a better look, but she was moving funny. One of her legs was occasionally getting 'left behind'.
So I rung the reptile vets (I am so lucky, I have the only specialist certified exotics vet in the county 15 mins away from me!) ad raced off to them before it shut.
He examined her, and one of her legs is a little funny. He felt it and says he doesn't think its broken/fractured (He should know, he once pinned a toad's leg because it was broken!), just a little sore, so she has got antibiotics for the next few days to give her a helping hand. He thinks she got it caught under the tub she was under this morning, so I have adjusted it and she can't get under there now.
I am now breathing a massive sign of relief. I have been worrying about her all day, but now it looks like she is going to be fine.
Phew!
