Default Can you get thin coco panels?

I can't be bothered to spray foam my viv but the coco panels on dart frog look really thick, is there any place to get thinner ones?

i.e less than an inch.

Hello. I could have sworn I got my coco fibre mats from Dartfrog, but I have just looked and you're right there are only thick ones. E.N.T. have mats like the ones I use though. Maybe I got them there.

You could always use tree fern panels. They come in 1cm and 2.5cm thick

I have not seen any thin coco panels but I have used dartfrogs thin xaxim panels. They look great and hold the moisture really well. A mate of mine uses them in all his vivs and they have grown moss by themselves. You can get bags of granulated xaxim which is great with some silicone for filling any gaps. Have you looked at the epiweb IIs system? this can give you an interesting background and with their moss pack are pretty much saying you are 100% going to grow moss. They have branches and hanging baskets to grow from. E.N.T are even using sheets of epiweb to create a false bottom for their display tanksas well as using it on the sides. Marc has one at Dartfrog and it looks fantastic ( over £600 if you want one, complete with mister lights and plants).

I have to cover a total of 12 sq feet, so tree ferns will be way too expensive!

It just seems like a waste to have some big panels that stick out and take up space (I know it's only a bit) when I'm not going to be planting that much in them.

Epi Web is an idea actually, depending on price. The tank won't be housing anything for a while so I could try and grow some moss.

Just worried about it being abrasive.

Cork panels? slightly cheaper than fern but a little more than coco and IMO look better than coco.

Have the same design in another viv....foam back and cork sides.

YES I AM PICKY.

Edit. They would look damn good though....but that's 80 quid to cover both sides.

Edit again: Oooh those smooth pressed cork panels are cheaper and could work.
