Default Bombina maxima - Therapeutic peptides

hey this is my first post on the amphibians section

I'm doing my final year project in my pharmacy degree on the pharmacological effects of a novel bradykinin-inhibiting peptide isolated from the skin secretions of the Chinese giant fire-bellied toad Bombina maxima and was just wondering if ne1 on here had any information on this species (particularly in terms of medicine), even any good recent papers around the subject of such work.

I will ofcoarse be doing my own research but thought id check in here to see if anyone had any particularly interesting links/papers etc

Many thanks for any info

Oh by the way NO animal is harmed in the research im carrying out, my uni (Queens - Belfast) has patented methods of stimulating secretions from the animals in a controlled environment without ANY negative effects on them, they actually think the toads like it as they are further bred without any problems and as we all know, stressed amphibians dont really breed too well

kool thanks guys

There are several species of bombinas in our labs, not sure what exact species are being successfully bred on site but its lik a jungle up there!lol, we have very strong links with many chinese uni's who are also working on similar areas of work so they help with either sending the secretions over or the animals themselves =) its pretty exciting stuff!
