Default Is this dart frog viv acceptable?

Seen this video on youtube & wondered surely thats not a recommended setup, theres at least 4 different species in there that we can see. Azzures, leucs, terribilis (I think) and 1 other species I'm not familiar with.

I mean surely the viv would have to be HUGE to be acceptable & give each species enough territorial space.

Anyways link to vid - YouTube - Poison Dart Frogs catch and eat fruit flies and crickets

Nope your correct that is deffinatley not right. Them species should not be housed together.

I didn't think it was best practise to house different species of dartfrogs together in such a small space. Correct me if I'm wrong, that's why I've put the question out there!

There's four species together thus potential for bullying, fighting and crossbreeding. The Azureus is tiny compared to the others.

true its not a good move if you are trying to breed, but when it comes to bullying and fighting this can go on with two males and two female. i my self have kept a few mixed tanks with no problem

Yeah it can, def.

Mixed in itself isn't a problem with darts, with a large tank I reckon a ground dweller like Terribilis can be kept with an arboreal dart like Pumilio.

4 species like in the vid seems a bit much, especially with such a small Azureus.

There are many reasons why this set up is wrong, just to list a few....
There is a high potential for cross breeding, which is highly un-ethical.
There is a high potential for bullying. 2 Tincs aganst each other is fair odds, but a P. terribilis Vs a juvenile Tinc or a Leuc is highly unfair.

It is hard to comment fully as this may be a 2x3x6 foot set up, but as a general rule the video and the husbandry is all wrong.

What mixed tanks have you kept in the past? any pics?
