Default Fire bellied toads

Hi all just wondering if anyone could give me some info on them, including:
  • Sexing
  • Breeding
  • Pics of set ups
  • Whether they will consume fish such as minnows
  • What species can be housed with them(preferably from the same locality as fire bellied toads but not overly important)
Thanks all.

sexing : hard, females can be slightly bigger, males call...
breeding : chances are you'll only get males, if you do get a female if you can get her into condition breeding is easy... the males know what to do
set ups : usually 50/50 land water is recommended
they'll eat anything that is too small for them to hump
I wouldn't recommend housing anything with them, they'll slowly poison other species that share the water/tank

LOTS of threads on them here- scroll down and take a look. One point, though, the general concensus is it's best not to mix them with ANYTHING; the toxins they produce are relatively mild and slow-acting, but the effects seem to be cumulative.

SOME will eat bloodworm- but it's not great as a basic diet, to be honest. I wouldn't bother with daphnia at all. Mine enjoy crickets, earthworms, woodlice, the occasional moth (hilarious to watch them chase round after them!), very small locusts, mealworm beatles, spiders, very small snails- if it moves and is a good size to go in their mouth, they'll eat it. Unlike a lot of frogs and toads, they CAN eat underwater, so they can eat small fish- but probably not worth the bother.

Would USA green tree frogs be okay to house with these, i now have some toads but i was wondering if i could add something extra, the only problem is i heard that the frogs may eat the toads as they will eat there own species as a last resort?

The main problem in this case isn't who eats who- it is that FBTs are toxic, and release that toxin into their environment. In the short term, that may not be a problem, but lots of posters on here testify that in the long run it is a killer. So don't mix them with anything.
