Default Asian Tree Frog lighting question

I recently got some Asian Tree Frogs in a 45x45x60 exo terra and i was wondering if i could use the the exo terra double canopy light for day and night lighting. I was thinking of a low wattage day light and maybe a coloured light at night. Would this be ideal or would it make them too dry?

Also, i'm a total newb to frogs (although i did a lot of research before i got them) so any pointers or other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help

Ste

I would've said that'd be fine, although I use the compact top with my tree frogs, not the double canopy.
Use a 5% UV bulb. They don't provide a lot of heat, so they won't dry out the tank.

Oh and for night time, I just use blue LEDs for natural moonlight. It's a lucky reptile product, provides a nice light and it doesn't seem to bother my tree frogs at all (although I am only using them with the White's)

Cheers. I've currently got a heatmat set on low for a decent day temp, maybe the light could replace that?

I would keep the heatmat as well. Is it on the side of the tank?
I've heard asian tree frogs like it relatively warm (24-29 degrees c) and the bulbs won't heat the tank up to that degree.

For my white's (who I keep at around that temp), I use a komodo heatmat 30x30 (not on a stat) on the side of the tank, and two 26 watt bulbs (UV levels of 2.0 and 5.0)

It is on the side, same size as yours. I got the set-up from friends of mine on here and i'm chuffed with it, just want some lighting as it's in my living room. I'll take your advice then mate.

Thanks again

It's more for the mrs than me!

They're great little frogs, the female is a bit scary looking though, she's about 3X the size of the males

Cancel that, you'll need the 45cm canopy. Think they would appreciate a night light, thats what i used the blue LED for, so they can find their food. Hows the cricket bite?
