Default I hate hoppy 'micro' sized things

...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. So difficult to catch!!! & they get everywhere!!!!

Why can't frogs eat salad or something? It'd be so much easier.

^ Oh yes.

It takes me about 30 seconds to grab Oscar a few large crix, dust & give them him, for the new boy/girl I've just spent the better part of 20 mins catching & dusting a total of 9 micro crix

And they die easily. And squish easily. Thankfully, I have nothing at the mo that needs to eat them.

How are you housing the cricks ?
I kept mine in something like this and had some single-cup egg crate ontop of the larger piece. Then, come feeding time, pick up piece, tap crix into bag/tub, sorted

Shes on about microcrickets which DEFINITELY get through the holes in the top (trust me...)

I just pop the box of crix in a bag THEN open the lid and shake a few crix out into the bag and seal the box again (all inside the bag so no escapees) and then remove the box and dust the crix in the bag - then tip the lot in the viv.

Voila!

Fruit flies are soo much easier and better though..

I always thought the lid was too high for them to jump up, but yeah you may be right. The lid on my tank differs in that it only has a hole in the middle, great to stop escapees (Especially seing as its now covered with fine mesh) but its evil for condensation..had to stop using bug gel in it.

They can climb the sides of the tub suprisingly well and they do get out all too easily... i had a nightmare couple of months due to that little assumption...
