they are not amphibians,
not too hard to get hold of, it all depends on you personally whether its worth the money how much do you want one, are you gonna have the room for a full grown adult, when they are little can live in a small tank but as adults they are gonna need there own room.As for the DWA, if the set ups right it shouldnt be too hard to get one, the vet has to come to see that you have the right facilities |

No i meant DWA Licenses - are they hard to get hold of?
Sorry i thought they were amphibs cos they live on land and in water! what category should this be in?

well I suppose they should be in lizard?? not entirely sure.
As for the DWA, someone on captivebred forum has just set up a tank for a dwarf caiman and got a DWA so you could ask him, it varies from county to county but if you have the set up they need and a lockable tank no way of escape then there shouldnt be a problem. I was visiting BJherps yesterday and had a look at there dwarf caiman and setup, there adults they have in a room that must be about 10 ft squared maybe a bit bigger its hard to judge, with a large pond and land area, so when applying I dont know whether you would have to prove you would have space for them for all of their lives. |
