Talking My new tank with pics.

Hi. I finished the gecko tank today. It is a 45x60, being lit with one daylight over basking area and one 5% UV, features 3 basking areas, 2 tube hides are wainting to be added (within the sunny ficus) several gaps, cracks and holes in the wood. Two broms (guzmania) a ficus vine speckled with silver has slightly hairy leaves that hold water droplets for ages after it is misted

I cant wait for the sunny ficus to cover the background and hope this happens as I have had very little luck with this in the past.

I chose not to use bamboo or sansaveria but feel I have addressed all of their needs in this tank (well, when the cork bark tubes are added for additional retreat and hiding areas)

Please let me know what you think!

Side view (red towel is up because I did not want to disturb frogs with lights.

Another stunning viv!!
My day geckos like to bask way up high...a inch or so below the basking lights - so I siliconed a slim piece of cork bark just near the top so they could get a even tan.......thats where they seem to stay all day long lol.
Then I made a tiny hole where I could stick the end of a desposible teaspoon filled with nectar and honey near their basking spot...which is easily removable.....this way they can tan and eat at the same time......hmmm maybe thats why they so fat and lazy........

Good stuff. Where is the wood from? Gives it a really good look.

p.s I so haven't replied because you mentioned it in the other thread.

Well thank you! How kind of you to notice!

The wood was sold to me as mopani, but it isnt...I knew it wasnt but I like the look of it and how it has a deep crotch I could plant the vine in. It was only a tenner too so I am well chuffed.
