You must have a park somewhere near you, keeping one in a tiny cage after it's spent it's whole live living in the huge outside is cruel....

There is atleast one public park or green space in every village and city, if you decide to keep it then i think it's very selfish of you. The only person it will benefit is you and the poor thing will probably die from stress.

Exclamation

i think its against the law to take these from the wild as i beleive toads and frogs too are protected species in the uk as are hedghogs and crested newts..i might be wrong..but i very much doubt it was about to die even if it was in the road..as the above post says its near breeding time i seriously think you or your friend should stop being so selfish and put him back in the grass near to where you found him..frogs /toads will travle back to where they had been spawned to breed so if there is a road in the way they must cross it...he needs to be put back where you found him in the direction he was travling in, he will not feed in captivity with you or anyone and there is specialized food that these animals will find..not just anything, please put him back ,and if need be go and buy a frog from a rep shop of you want a pet frog they will cost you nothing and the viv will be explained properly...these are wild creatures you have and they are sparce enough as it is in the wild without people taking them away from there natural habitat..wouldnt you much rather see him free in the wild and breeding to create more babies or stuck in a viv and possibly dieing...THINK PLEASE!!!

He or she (probably a lady at this time) will likely be travelling to their breeding ground, if you find a toad on a road, you might help it across to the other side and then leave em to it

You've only just found it, how on earth can you say you've grown attached to it! If you see a toad walking across a road always note which way it's heading and then help it across if at all possible (without compromising your own safety of course).

As Richie says, let it go and get on with breeding.
