Default Foam fun(planter made using foam)

Ok some of you will have read about me cockup with my foam gun on the dartviv early stages, this is how it should work. Get some corex (see even conservatives can be useful) aply some foam (from a gun behaving itself) then add a pot add some more foam to the pot to cover (DON'T cover the base or top ) wait for afew minutes for the foam to harden on the outside now you can shape the planter with your hands(wear gloves incase it hasn't gone off enough) and hopefully it will come out a bit like these

hi deano, agreed but i have used it before loadsa times on building sites, and when we did the pots which was first every thing was cool it just went pants when doing the viv i still don't know why, which is a shame cause i've got 2 more to do in the next few days heyho we are gonna have to fit a hose to the gun for the other 2 asthe gun won't go in the smaller vivs so that should be real interesting cheers for the interest i thought i'd taken all those pics for nothing as nobody had replied and we thought it might be usefull to others ,regards stu

hey morg how goes it dude, me a tory in ya dreams my mates dad had this in their garden so we ripped it out(made the place look untidy) and found a worthwhile use for it do ya like the pots easier to get round the back of the pot when using a foam gun in a complete viv,i also thought not many would realise how easy it is to mould to the shape you want into the foam

no the foam is not water proof ,"fallen" it actually needs water to harden hence the spraying to ensure it hardens right through, and doesn't move later you can cover the foam in a no. of ways, silicon seems to be the most popular then while still wet push some ecoearth etc into it.We are gonna go out on a limb a bit and use rockoflex to strenthen it then epoxy resin to waterproof(in place of the silicon),product name elastopur, the above are ent products as is the pot idea i am hoping this way will last the longest......we'll see it is quite an expensive gamble but i can't find anyone who has used this stuff see dart viv build thread to see how it all goes, cheers for the interest stu.
