Default Found a newt

Found a small common newt in the garden he was very cold so bought him inside. We've got him in a cricket tub with paper towel substrate, small water bowl and one side of the tub is slightly damp. He's on one of my beardies vivs so he's got a little bit of heat but have no idea what newts need really so any suggestions? what can I try feeding him? he's very small, about 2 inches. Thanks.

Newt found outside in the UK, think he is cold huh,

Let him go out side he is use to the cold, they look cold temps better then warm might hurt him with the rapid change in temps as well, he eats worms and little insects like woodlice, springtails etc, but just let the little one go where you found him.

Wouldn't have him in a heated Viv, just put him back. Maybe somwere near a stream/pond.
You can do more harm, when you think your doing the best for him.

yes but dont you see that in the same way as desert reptiles need extra heat to be comfortable, the native newt will need it cool.... they cant regulate there body temp so it is used to the cold and will be in massive shock in your room temps, even if its cold to you its not for him, hes designed to live in our climate so thats the best place for him
