Default Weedy Seadragons

Just wanted to share these pictures with you. Can't take credit for the photos Clippo took these for us.

After setting up our first marine tank we got the bug for seahorses and it has now turned into a full time occupation for us. We run our own marine shop which has the full range of fish, corals etc but we specialise in Captive Bred Seahorses and Pipefish and we are lucky enough to be able to supply these here in the UK.

We work with various public aquariums and were asked to source some Weedy Seadragons, adults and young for their captive breeding programmes.

We brought in two adults that are down at Weymouth and 22 juveniles for various aquariums both here and in Europe. As these don't recongnise frozen food we had to make sure we had a supply of live mysis and again we were very fortunate that a friend of ours has a boat and went out at ridiculous hours to catch the tides and kept us going until they went to their new homes.

Hope you like them.

WOW! They look amazing! I always wanted seahorses - I've been fascinated by them since I saw some on holiday as a kid.

Chameleons are perfect - they don't make any mess, smell or noise, don't leave fur on the carpet and don't need walking!

At times I think we must have been mad to set the shop up and now expand it but when you see such beautiful things like this it does give you a little warm glow thinking, I did that.

We were invited to the National Aquarium Workshop back in October last year and it was really nice to go behind the scenes at the biocentre and see the adult weedy seadragons doing so well.

I was just discussing with my partner this week how incredibly difficult keeping seadragons is...

congrats on providing what sounds like an awesome set-up for these beautiful creatures
