Silvers ain't expensive. An importers I frequent has babies in at around £6 each. Jardini arowanas are a bit more expensive, but again grow massive and have a habit of killing all of their tank mates.

Asian arowana are my faves. They start at around £300. An exceptional quality platinum arowana (A colour strain of the asian) was advertised for sale at £200,000 in 2007. Just to put things into perspective.
