Cheeky Chappy

Posted 14-03-2008 at 01:53 PM by peaches
He can open the oven!!!

Had a roast duck in there yesterday evening, he thought he'd help himself. Just yanked down the door with his mouth - git!!

We thought that because we would never offer him human food that he would learn not to beg for it - ha!! How wrong were we, He is such a scab. On the scrounge all the time.

For a sight dog, he's more like a bloody sniffer dog

Jumping Training

Posted 26-02-2008 at 06:58 PM by peaches
Well obviously the ability to jump for a working Lurcher is a must. So to start slowly.

My children were playing at the weekend, Smudge was joining in of course. They had one of those crawl through tubes out and Smudge cleared it easily.

Great, we thought, this will be easy. So we made a little jump in the garden, not too high. Oh the effort, he did manage twice but kept going round

But was great fun, tired him out anyway.

This time...

Puppy Classes

Posted 14-02-2008 at 11:17 AM by peaches
Smudge has started Puppy classes, first one was last night. 13th Feb.

Only a small group, 3 other dogs. He wasn't that interested in learning tbh, just loved playing with the others dogs.

My husband took him, said he couldn't get over when they were playing and chasing each other, the swiftness in which Smudge could turn, compared to the others. Turn on a sixpence really.

So his social skills are been progressed, and new tips on teaching him other things....
