Was on holiday a few weeks ago and my mum found my other Royal. She didn't seem particularly bothered.

Correct me if i'm wrong but I reckon that's license to get whatever pet I want now Next stop: Burmese Python! :P

Well i'm still hiding Peter from my mum. However, the sister knows about him now (because she's the nosey type).

She's not going to tell the mother, because that would just be wrong. I mean: does she REALLY want to upset my poor mother by telling her theres ANOTHER snake in the house? My mum has enough on her mind and that would just be cruel of my sister to do that.

And just to be clear: I consider my self faultless in this scenario :P

I know mites can be a bugger to get rid of, but I think I might have managed it!

Even if some of the little bastards are hiding Peter doesn't seem too badly affected - he snapped up a weiner rat the other night no problem, so he's obviously not too fussed about them if they ARE still around.

They didn't seem to spread to Eleni, which I'm thankful for, but I took precautions just in case.

The mites came back after the last time so I shoved Peter into a tub half-full...

MITES! Nuff said really.

Peter, the newbie has mites, at the perfectest of times when no pet shops are open to get any treatments. I've tried the non-chemical approach which is to soak them and hope that the mites drown.... Have also replaced all newspaper in his RUB and boiled his water dish and hide and wiped down the RUB. Have seen a few mites hanging around in his RUB but cant see any on him. Fingers crossed.

So far I havent found any on Eleni or in her RUB, but changed...

First of all: Merry Freakin' Christmas! Its almost 1 o'clock so I better get to bed before Santa comes, but I thought I should get back on here and share the good news that I got a new pet today

He's an '09 Fire Royal (which we're ALMOST certain is male) and I have named him Peter (just need to find him a Lois now :P )

He is EXTRAORDINARILY chilled and groovy about everything, he took to me straight away (has met me a few times before as I'm mates with his previous owner)...
