Some Halfwit Idiot's Tripe
Breeding Waxworms
Old

Ooohhh errrr...

Ive left the waxies that long, theyve started pupating and turning to moths

I found that just leaving them to it in the airing cupboard didnt quite work right. They hatched etc, but didnt grow very fast...until I put the container on top of the boiler tank itself.

Now I need to get more tall containers, more mix and find more room on the tank

I have little waxworms!! Not sure how many there is, but they are there!! Only noticed them today, so dunno how long theyve been there for. They are the size and thickness of a pen scribble lol....how long before they are big enough to feed to a beardie? Should I move them to some fresh mix, as the mix they are in now looks very dry

Ive seen the moths fluttering about today! Must have caught them unawares when I had a look at them this morning. There's around 8/9 moths in total...still some pupae left in the bottom of jar, so not sure If theyre gunna hatch into moths or not.

I had a close look at the mix in the bottom of jar, but couldnt see any new waxworms laid yet....but i understand they are quite diddy, so Ive probably missed them

More moths! 17th march 2010

Posted 17-03-2010 at 09:03 PM by Tarn~Totty
I have at least 6 moths now...when I look in on them they dont even move...they look stuffed or dead lol. I never see them moving, not even a wing flutter. The weetabix n honey mixture looks abit dry too...should I add more honey? Better read the sticky I think (again!)
