Default Incubator Advice needed Please

Hi, i'm getting ready to build my first poly box incubator for my Beardies... I have been to 2 local reptile shops to ask advice on the best set up they one has suggested i use a heat mat for it and the other suggested i use a Heat Cable, he said these are designed for fish tank use really but in his opinion they work better for an incubator as it can handle the humidity better than a heat mat... Im new to breading so would like your advice please... Heat Mat or Heat Cable???

I use a heat mat.. never had a problem with humidity. The humidity is kept with in the tub where the eggs are kept and not in the box itself.

Default aquarium heater

i use a poly box, fine wire mesh, a plate, an aquarium heater and a digi thermostat place plate in bottom of poly box turn thermostat to just below max stick heater to plate with suckers fill 1/3rd with warm water fit wire into box most have a lip in each corner about half way up rest wire on these place tubs with vermiculite in box with probe in one to check temp i also make a couple of holes in the lid with a pen/pencil to let out some condensation with external digi you can then adjust temps without disturbing the contents of the box works great last 3 clutches 100% hatch rate hope this helps Steve
