Breeding Royal Pythons
How old should a female Royal Python be before you introduce them to a male?
I've heard it's four years - is that true? Thanks Harry

I think its more to do with weight, 1500g is the recommended weight, but im some people will breed at 1200g some probably less...

1500g for females and about 900g for males i think. all different for ages though really as some will put on weight really fast and others will take years to get to a good weight!

Yus,
Weight is paramount. Some females do take much longer than 3 years to reach maturity. We do not breed females until they are 2,000grams. Our male breeders are placed with an appropriate female when they are 900grams +. Everyone has their own criteria on the ideal size / age. Regards. Lex

As above some some just take longer than others. Ours is around 3ish and is only just over 1000g even though she eats a huge meal every week.
