Default Small fluctuations in temps ? - Leo Eggs

Hi Guys,

had my incubator running for about a week now and have noticed fluctuations on the thermometer of about 1.5 F max.
Set up for 'mixed' sexes it's been at around 84.4 to 85.7 or so when I've been checking.

Will this be an issue (Assuming not - but just checking !), if so any ideas how to stabilise things ?

I've got the temp probe in/on the perlite within a cricket tub on the top shelf of a Lucky Herp 2 incubator...
The incubator LED temp is set to 29C to maintain the readings I'm getting... (sorry to confuse things )!

Eggs are due any day, so would be nice to know they'll be OK !

Should be ok I would have thought. How quickly does it fluctuate? If you are talking a few minutes at the high end before it starts to come back down... then a few mins at the low end before it comes back up, your eggs won't even have time to drop or gain temp so, despite the air changing temps, the egg "insides" will probably not be varying that much, if that makes sense.

Not sure on the pace of the changes, I'm checking every few hours so what it's doing in between I don't know...

As they're relatively small ranges, I'm reasonably happy, would just like to see it steady out !

To help stabalise the temps you could put bottles of water inside. These will act as a temperature ballast (and also be useful if you need to moisten the substate in the egg tubs as it will be at same temp)
