Default Mould ><;;

Went to check my little clutch of Corn eggs today and found one or two had little puffs of mould on them.

Does this mean anything? And how can I prevent it? Will it harm the eggs?

Thanks guys

If any of my Leo eggs get mold on then I give them a little puff of athletes foot spray. Sometimes it can be an indicator that they have died - sometimes not so keep incubating. try to make sure they are not touching any other eggs

They're all seperate so thats okay I guess.

Athletes foot spray...hmm..I should try that.

They're all still very fat and plump...not dimpled or anything...

Well if there still flat and plump and not shriveled i should imagen that there fine

It's probably just the heat of the incubator that has encourages micrbos to grow and what not.

I know some people wash their tort eggs with a diluted solution of F10 before incubating- just to stop mold etc going. If you imagine the conditions that eggs like to incubate in, they are very similar to those that mold thrives in, so it is natural that they will grow mold if they are sprayed.

I'm not sure how to treat mould. I doubt that I would, but listen to advice from others cos the hobby has come a long way since I last hatched anything.

Even if the eggs go funny colours and collapse I would carry on incubating them. I have had perfectly formed hatchlings come out of the most disgusting eggs.
