The pine/bull/gopher snakes are GREAT animals! The same techniques work for all of them.
There are a number of subspecies of gopher snake. My experience has been with bullsnakes. They need a 2-3 month hibernation period at 45-55 Fahrenheit. They start courting around a month after they come out of hibernation and lay eggs around 6-8 weeks later. Incubation is like corn snake eggs. Cannibalism has happened with gopher snakes but is MUCH rarer than with king snakes. It's most likely to happen if two snakes get on opposite ends of one mouse. Good luck. |
