Default Pregnant bearded dragon

Hey guys,
This is my first forum visit/post so hopefully I'm putting it all in the correct place.

I recently bought a bearded dragon couple and horny as Draco is, he made Marieke pregnant.

They advised me to put a large bowl/container on my sand I use as substrate. They told me I needed a more wet substrate in that bowl so she can burrow in there.
What kind of substrate should I put in there for her to burrow in?

Once she laid the eggs, should/can I directly take the eggs out and put them in an incubator?

Hi there, I dont know if your question has been answered else where but here goes.

I put a mixture of playsand and topsoil but playsand is ok on its own. You want the substrate to be damp enough that it holds a form but not too wet that she cant dig and make a tunnel or too dry that the tunnel doesnt hold (if that makes sense).

As for taking eggs out I would wait until she has buried them and patted the substrate down. Take her out and give her a bath, they get dehydrated and will drink loads after laying. After doing that you can sort your eggs out, do this as carefully as you can trying not to turn the egg.

Liz
