Question incubator heat

i am in the process of making an incubator but cant decide on whether to use heatmats or bulbs. is either one better than the other or is it just personal preference?
thanks.

It depends upon the incubator design. The easiest (as best) home made incubators in my opinion are those made out of poly boxes...and a heatmat would be better with a poly box as its much easier to celotape a heatmat to the inside of a poly box than it is to fix a heat bulb to one.
