Default Cooling royals

just wondered how many people cool there royals before breeding ? some people say they dont because of Ri ...

whats your take on this

Personally I don't think an otherwise healthy royal will get an RI due to a night-time temp drop provided that normal temps are returned during the day. Having said that, royals don't seem to require that much of a temp drop in order to get them breeeding so I wouldn't go overboard on lowering the temps...

I turn off the heat mats over-night and the ambient room temp is also dropped from 28C to about 20C.

ive only bred once (recently) which was same male to 2 girls

didnt cool and got 2 clutches cooking atm

wont cool this coming season

more and more people are going down the "not going to cool, not necessary" route...

as you've said, 2 clutchs out of 1:2 pairings... cant better that...
so, either your male has super sperm, or, cooling isnt a "must do" factor...

we are not cooling, its our first year of breeding royals and we have decided to just up the humidity abit. (hope it works )

Default Cooling

Hi I decided not to cool and iv been puting a spider male with 3 females and iv seen some very good locks and my albino male with a other female and there's been some good locks with them to and I even lifted up his tail and his penis were out just hope they ovulate

I have never cooled my Royals, the only year i did cool them i witness matings but never got any clutches!!
