Default Cooling..

Simple question, do you cool your snakes for breeding?

If no, also comment with your success rates

We don't and we had great success...
More to the point friends of ours that used to cool have now given up on it as it created more problems than it cured....
This is with Corns, Royals and Carpets.. BTW.
This is only my opinion BTW and is by no means a conclusive study...

What sort of problems did your friend come across when cooling?
I'm focusing on corns
And peoples opinions is what i'm after so thats great thanks

When I kept corns and ratsnakes I cooled nearly all the snakes I wanted to breed. I think I tried a couple without cooling, and they bred OK too. Cooling for the corns and rats was to cool down a bit in situ then transfer to 9*9*6 tubs and put them in the garage. I brought them in a few times when it got REALLY cold.

I can't remember exactly what I did with the carpets and children's except that I did some sort of cooling. I'll watch this thread with interest to see how people do it now.

I no its to do with breeding but i would of put this into the snake section and you would of gotten a lot more replies, the breeding section seems to go slow.

Yeah I know but i've seen people being moaned at before for putting stuff in the wrong section, i'll probably change it later.

this was my first year of breeding (royals)

only had 1 male and 2 females ready and didnt cool

got 7 gorgeous hatchlings in their first shed (from 7 eggs) and 7 eggs due to hatch in 12 days or so im happy not to cool so far
