Default New incubator

So today i decided i wanted to make a new incubator with viewing window and as i had old kitchen unit in shed it was good starting point!!!

had already started when i realised i had no pics.

so i started to line the inside with old poly box lids cut to fit...

i used some wood clue to see if that would help hold larger pieces tight so cross bars are just for pressure...

All i have left to do is put in some sort of wire shelving system to allow more even heat and humidity.

So i have a few questions, where is the best place to put the heat mat? how many shelves would you also recommend?

thanks in advance

hmmmmmmmmmm thats very interesting and looks GREAT

u could probably have got away without the poly but guess it'll be even more efficient now

for shelves id decide first what boxes ur gonna use

im using 5L rubs which have been brill for my first ever 2 clutches this year

i know most peaple use mats but wouldnt heat cable be even better? its what im using in a glass fronted fridge

but id guess amat should go at bottom (caurling up the sides) since heat rises
ive also put in a couple of pc fans just to more air about a tad (on a timer)

Looks like it will do the job. Heat mat would work fine in the bottom or on the back wall but heat cable in an incubator works very well. As for shelves decide on what size boxes you will be using and see how many you can squeeze in. I tend to have tubs just for incubating that fit perfect. Or make loads of shelves but make them removable just in case.

what way would i put the heat cable in then? Around the bottom or all over the place to radiate heat throughout?

Will find tubs and sort shelving accordingly!!
