Default is in-breeding royals ok?

would it be ok to breed royals back to the adults they came from?

Simple answer yes.
As thats how a lot of recessive morphs were originally bred to prove the lines. However where possible you should consider trying to avoid doing it as inbreeding can bring out the best and worse traits of a line.
