Recently I've seen a few adds for female boas stating they are 'breeding size' or 'breedable' and they are only about 2 yrs old. I've never bred boas as yet, but I thought that females should be about 4yrs before breeding? My female bci is 2yrs, over 6ft and 4.2kg, but I dont think she is anywhere near a suitable size for breeding as yet. Have I got it wrong, or is it one of those controversial issues?
Hi im still fairly new to boa breeding myself but the minimum recommended breeding weight is 10lb for a female boa but they must be chunky and healthy although i personally wouldnt breed a 2year old up to weight or not i would leave her till 4yrs it is a little controversial but generally i go by 4years and over 10lb in weight hope this helps im sure some of the more experienced will also shed light on this
