We have one in use at the moment, but it's not been going long enough to say whether it's any good or not. It certainly looks good, doesn't make much noise and is so much neater and easier than the polybox, heat mat and stat we had set up before. The tubs don't seem to collect condensation on the lids which was a problem we had with the home-made incubator (lost a few eggs from drips). We had been looking at getting a pulse stat for our home-made thing to make it more accurate, (previously it was on a mat stat so lots of fluctuations in temp) but then we thought if we were going to get a new more expensive stat, we might as well go the whole hog and buy a proper incubator. Just for ease of use, I'd say it's worth the money.

Oh, and if you want to see them in use, go and have a look in Britannia Pine, off the A5 somewhere vaguely near Cannock. We got ours from there when we stopped to have a nosey on our way past. They have some very nice animals and vivs in there.

Herp nursery II comes all ready to go. There's even a car adapter thing for it, although why anybody would be incubating eggs in a car I don't know! The only thing we've found is that the temperature needs to be set a bit higher than you need it to get it hot enough inside the tubs. It's also measured in degrees celsius not farenheit which is a bit of a pain if you're not used to it like me, but doesn't take long to get used to.

Just updating. We have now officially had success with this incubator! I just had a check in there to see how my oedura monilis egg was doing (I only found it on Sunday but didn't candle it to see if it was fertile or not) and had a quick look at the other eggs in there to find a little nutter baby rankins dragon running around like mad. She only laid 10 eggs this time, and kicked most of them about trying to bury them so only 2 were looking good, but one has hatched and the other has a bit of head poking out. They've only been in there 40 days (for comparison, last year's hatched at about 60 days in our home made incubator), and we've aimed to incubate at the same temperature, so I was very surprised to find them so early. I'm guessing that they've hatched so much quicker to to fewer temperature fluctuations, and a better air flow around the eggs.

I use hovabators, and find them great.

Cheap, simple to use, reliable and effective.
