help/advice needed re 10 day old beardie

hi, i am hoping someone can offer me some advice, i am new to breading and have some 10 day old hatchlings, most of them seem to be thriving they are growing and eating well but i am very concernd about 1 of my babies, it seems very tiny compaired to the others, it does not seem very active in fact it slleps the majority of the time and it doesnot seem to be eating.
is there anything i can do to encourage it? i am currently feeding them on size 2 crickets and finely cut curly kale.
i also unfortunaltly lost a baby last night, again it hardly fed and was the smallest of the lot, i am hoping that the fact that it died was because it was not eating and not anything that i was doing wrong.
please help i do not want this other baby to die.

dont know anything about breeding but i would separate the wee guy incase he is the runt

will ask a friend to come on this thread, but will say stop feeding kale, its ok now and again but not all the time as it stops the absorbtion of any calcium you are dusting with ............maybe a bit more info would help, viv temp, how often being fed, what supplements your using ect .........although you do and will get a weaker hatchling sometimes

thanks for your answers, viv temperature is 95 in basking area and other end of viv is 80, on advice of local reptile breeder they are being fed twice a day dusted one day and not the next, they also advised me to feed them kale, is there anything else you can suggest instead?
as for supplements i am using calcium powder with added vitamin d3 again this is what was suggested to me my local reptile breeder

Basking temp needs to be higher at around 110.. try not to feed kale on a regular basis, try feeding rocket, cress, watercress, lambs lettuce, grated butternut and carrot.

Also again this might sound a bit off the wall but has your beardie bred before this season as, this can happen when you have a female that has laid eggs every four or five weeks and has not built up her calcium enough to the latter clutches. Although there has been enough to sustain the babies in their eggs it causes some kind of problem after they hatch. Some breeders call it flat beardie syndrome, they hatch small and look flatter than clutch mates.

Sorry just read this.. Baby beardies need feeding at least 3 times a day and one of them dusted with calcium.. suppliment this with something like nutrobol every 3rd day.. When they reach about 5 weeks old you can drop there live food feeding down to twice a day. Kale is not the best thing to feed adults as it can cause calcium binding although it is ok as a once in a while veg but, it is something that I would avoid feeding my babies altogether until they are a little older.

Your basking temp really needs to be up around the 110 degree mark as they need it warmer.

question liz ..if the adults veg has always been kale can this affect any eggs she then lays ? as in lack of calcium in them

It is possible that it has some effect although, no scientific tests have been done that I know of to prove it one way or the other.

I know that in some care sheets it says they can eat kale and they can but not on a day to day basis.. I would say more like once week.
