I think at the moment because of the recession, it's only worth breeding the morphs that other breeders are looking for. There aren't as many people looking for corns as pets at the moment.

I also think it is because so many people are breeding them right now the market is flooded with them and except for blood reds and other high end morphs you are lucky to even break even on them. I am about to start a poll on how many babys were produced this year.

Yes very true, the number of breeders has increased massively especially over the last couple of years.

The first couple years I bred I brumated both male and female and had a really great success rate. This year I am brumating only my male because I'd like to keep feeding and conditioning my female over winter.

Thanks to everyone who replied!
After reading all the replies,
I think I'm going to brumate all the corns that I intend to breed, apart from a couple of males that are a bit small at the moment but which will probably be big enough come spring as long as I keep feeding them through the winter.
I will try these males with a couple of the smaller females who have been brumated, when spring comes around.
Thanks again everyone!

I knew i was going to have trouble with them this year so I advertised snows, amels and anerys for £10 each as non-feeders before they hatched and 5 days after they hatched someone came and collected the lot. I will not be breeding them any more though.

I brumate all my breeding corns. I have bred them without brumation and had smaller clutches and more slugs. Only tried it once and now always brumate. You also have to consider the plus points of not feeding your adults for a while, along with reducing your work load for a bit.
