Default questions about leopard gecko breeding...

So im thinking about breeding geckos. I have a 1 year old blizzard leopard gecko and thinking about getting an 1 year old albino female. I have read a cupple of care sheets on breeding, any you suggest?

The questions:

Would a male blizzard and a female albino make blizzards and albinos or just one or the other?

Would a baby blizzard be worth more money if both parents were blizzards?

Ive got a 1.5 ft by 1.5 ft viv for my blizzard, would 2 geckos be happy in that or do you suggest i get a bigger one?

Thanks in advance,
Jamie.

I don't know much about leopard gecko genetics as I just have normals. I think blizzard and albino are both simple recessive traits so I'm not sure what you would get.

If you had a baby blizzard then I think it has to have blizzard gene from both its parents because its a recessive gene....

As for the viv I would definetely suggest getting another one to house both of them in, and have a spare set up because you can't just assume that they will tolerate eachother - they may fight and need seperated.

Hope this helps

All the offspring would be normal because both blizzard and albino are ressesive genes meaning each parent much pass on one copy in order for the offspring to visually display the trait.

Its the only way you can get a blizzard, so no!

You could fit two in there at a push, i personally prefer all adults housed separately, but with plenty of hides you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks in advance,
Jamie.
